Week 17 Donna Downey's 48 Weeks Journaling Workshop Class ~You ARE bOOtiful~ Way off the class

Hello and unbelievable but its already November which I had bits and pieces of this completed and I wanted to post before Halloween but however that didn't happen. I actually cut the fabric dolls out during a car ride to and fro a show. This is what started off as Week 17 of Donna Downey's 48 Week Class  but somehow I took a left turn and ended up here....as they say let the art speak for it self as it will tell YOU what it wants to be! The fabric cutouts I bought because I went to Joann's when my daughter Alexis showed me all the fabrics they had for the Halloween season. Well that was IT, I had to to get to Joann's the first chance I could. One of my customers ordered four elderberry syrups and we were out delivering close to where Joann's is.....PERFECT I quickly mentioned to Bruce I would like to go the Joann's. With Bruce there Is NO shopping unless you absolutely need it! He dropped me off and went to the store to get a few things. There were only two Halloween fabrics in the store...this one and a Snoopy one.....I was like ohhhhhh I really wanted some of the prints Alexis showed me on FaceTime. Anyways I got this one and I'm glad I did never imagined it was going onto Week 17's journal pages. I had a blast as usual. I layer every second I can....I come over to switch laundry over, check on dinner (which is mostly Instant Pot), etc. and I throw a layer on here and there. I kinda thought I was going back to week 5 as this progressed but it took a slight Y in the road.
Last weekend was super busy at the Jubilee that this week I have been basically working around the clock....NO JOKE yep burning the candle at both ends. Trying to catch up enough to make it through this weekend. I feel like I am on the endless loop de loop roller coaster. It's a RIDE let me tell ya but I know that January is coming and it slows up a bit. I still have goats and farm work but the shows aren't every weekend. Plus this month there were shows during the week and some days twice during the week.

The fun "scary" tree which my boys loved this one. It certainly was fun.
Remember this book is the large book and to show how large it is I put my feet in it. So you can judge how large it is. This is the full spread.
Loved all the ephemera I used in the background. Perfect for extra layers.

These characters were just so cute and fun.

This one actually reminded me of Wednesday from The Addams Family. We went to the movie to see it on the Wednesday before Halloween. A little Halloween treat for the boys. They love getting the popcorn and nachos......I know it cost me a fortune but its a TREAT!

You can see all the texture here.

Of course ya always need the witches

More of the fun characters.

Note the Texture, I absolutely love texture it just adds so dimension and space.

You are bOOtiful I just love it! It fit my goth side and Halloween all at the same time.

The full of each journal page if you would like to see any of the other classes I did you can go to each week to see them

Week 9 of Donna Downey's 48 Weeks Journaling Workshop ~Strength from Within~

Hello again and today I am so happy I actually got to finish this one.....it had been on hold basically since my last post, I struggled with it a bit and for some reason was stuck on what I wanted to do. My journal is totally different and for some reason I couldn't get flowers to look right in this layout........DON'T ask me why and please don't even question why?? It just wasn't working for me...the inspiration in the class was amazing...no doubt! After the first attempt of flowers I decided to forgo the them and do the elephants and the lotus.....oh my was I glad I did. I tell you this picture doesn't do the paintings justice. It just glows and you can feel the energy.

You can see the workshop by going to Donna Downey's Website 48 weeks

The texture pops and the colors continue to show through.

I am so glad I continued to follow my heart on this

The elephant stencil I used was the Donna Downey elephant stencil

I just recently rode an elephant with my granddaughter Aubrey and it was such a wonderful experience and I am so glad I got to spend the day with my family.

At the Two Tails Ranch in Florida where we rode the elephants I learned so much about them it was really worth the visit and the owner of the ranch she was highly educated and had a lifetime of elephant experience as the elephant ranch has been in their family for nine generations.

The lotus stencil is a stencil by Julie Fei Fan Balzer Balzer Designs

I can hardly believe I am getting ready to start week 10 now from a class from 2014. I am so excited to finally get this far.....I am always having to work to run our farm and painting and crafting aren't much in the time allotment. However everyone needs a break and when I can I love to paint.....mostly everything I do I have to make things for others and I love doing that, but when I get to do these classes they are just for me.....I was so happy to get to bring this painting to share and finish it today.....I know you know that feeling!

I do all these paintings on my back porch and if you haven't seen my video on the porch check it out...

The painted bee box won third place this year

I had just came in from the fields when I took the pic wearing boots on the farm with the goats, bees, chickens, plants, garden.....you wear whatever socks you can put on. The dogs didn't want to be on the porch as it was too hot for them...and no rain....my plants on the porch are doing great. I have been sick like summer cold which is like unheard of us getting sick...at first I thought it was an allergy but I have a cough too. Looks like no kitchen work for me.....oh darn! IDK where it came from I guess all the work has got me weak and my body was screaming REST! We have also been cleaning up the house as Bruce has read the book I spoke of in the tiny house blog post....Book you can read about it.
If you would like to see the other weeks in the 48 weeks class go to each link below.

This is the place I talked about that perhaps inspired me on the paints it is Two Tails Ranch which if you are in Florida or planning a trip it is a must see adventure. We all had blast and enjoyed all of it. Patricia the owner does an amazing job!

My granddaughter Aubrey enjoyed every minute of it!!!! Such a great day for part of her  3rd birthday celebration.

These elephants really are absolutely amazing marvelous animals.

You can see she had a blast

Skylar and Dusty had fun and got to ride together
Beautiful and so smart we got to see the elephant paint and even get a bath at the end.
Super fun day!
Tomorrow is Bruces birthday he will be 53 years old....oh my has time flown by....

Good Morning everyone........this is going to be sweet and to the point. Tomorrow we will be at Smithfield Farmers Market in Smithfield Virginia from 9-12noon behind the BSV Bank on Main Street. There is also other great things to do in the town on Saturday so if you can stop by. The above pic is of Violet and Milly.......Milly was one of my goats I sold several weeks ago....and is living the "BIG Goat Life" these two are so spoiled they live in baby onesies and diapers and of course drink from baby bottles. They are in the house until they are six months old as the lady told me. WTG Milly....we miss you!
See how sweet and precious Milly and Violet have it. Adorable precious goats! #GoatLove
Remember this Saturday from 9-12 noon April 14, 2018 #SmithfieldFarmersMarket

I made several jams this week and let me tell you once again as if you haven't heard it enough.....another busy busy busy week......I want a less busy week to enjoy painting or reading....but that will come later....after planting season. This jam is the Strawberry Fig Vanilla Bean Jam which is very much asked for and goes very fast. Vanilla beans have went sky high on price and it has been hard to come by to be able to afford them. Also I do have two bottles of the aged vanilla extract that aged for more than a year.....soooo if you want that better get it fast.
The strawberry fig vanilla bean jam, also here lately I have the worst time getting jars...well this size as I haven't been able to buy the pallets like before but going to Walmart, Food Lion, and Kroger the jars on the shelf will only be like two cases....I just hope that soon there will be more jars in the stores.
I got lots of stuff done this week, deodorants, rose waters, beard oil, soaps (of course the soaps I did this week will need to cure) I also got several more salves made, we labeled a lot of soap that was already on the shelves. I continued to transplant in the greenhouse you can see the video on YouTube below I also made lots of cheese, lots of fermented foods and cooked dinners and ran errands as needed. I hate having to leave as there is sooo much here to do. My title of the post this week is Goats, Coats, Bees and Cheese....well as always we are milking goats (story of our lives) and Sunday I was at Riverview Farmers Market in Norfolk Virginia which was fantastic! I post a lot of pic on Instagram as stampmom9 so if you would like to see them go to Instagram and look for stampmom9
I am always cold so I am always wearing a coat but on Sunday the wind blew and I tell you I FROZE! It literally took me till Thursday of this week to not feel tired and wore out from Sunday as basically I was in the wind and cold from 8 am to 5 pm that evening, yes its a much longer market but when its warm it will be wonderful. Lots of zoo goes, and park fun!
Well and as far as cheese and bees....you already know that story.

This is a video on YouTube of my plants in the greenhouse please take a look everything I have planted from seeds

Our bees, I took I small video of one of the hives and you can also here the rooster crow and the bees buzzing and hauling lots of pollen hauling in.....work work work!! It is just beautiful watching the bees....They are truly AMAZING!

The Days at the Daffodil Festival and Where We will Be this Weekend and Updates

Well I had this long story I was going to tell ya about us after we got home from the Daffodil Festival in Gloucester Virginia but this post started out Monday and now here it is Thursday and I guess I will get typed up what I can......We left had a BLAST at the Daffodil Festival met some awesome people and some of our usual customers showed up...again thanks for the support!!! It makes me proud as a peacock to see you guys!!! We set up on Friday and was able to see some of our other vendor friends and chat with them. We drove home which it took us a little over two hours each way. We no sooner got in the drive way and delivered three baby goats....and one was delivered right before we got home. We got in the bed at like 12 ish and got up at 3:50 am to get ready and drive back over to Gloucester.  We were super busy and it was hard to get away to even go to the restrooms. I enjoyed every minute of it and we are sooooo THANKFUL!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!!!
We are forever having different set ups as you never know what kinda of space you will get how it will be angled or what have ya. So you always have to be ready to set up and be creative in different ways.
There are always lots of soap vendors but people tell me all the time my soap is the best, I charge it with love and healing powers and pour my heart into every bar. All my oils are infused with a lot of the herbs I grow. I also only use essential oils for all the soaps.
The jams and jellies as always are a huge hit and of course the honey. The goat cheese is always welcomed even to ones who have never had it.
I sold all my teas but two.
We were at booth 410 and it was cold. We had excellent vendor neighbors and I couldn't have had it any better....an excellent spot too! Thanks Daffodil Planners!
                                                            The parade was awesome!
                                                             More on the parade
Everyone was dressed cute in the parade.
These folks ROCKED!!! They helped sooo many of us and even offered free coffee, water, and prayers. They helped us unload our trailer when we arrived. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!!! We couldn't done it without you all!!!
Of course mega amounts of the BEAUTIFUL Daffodils everywhere just stunning!

Daffodils everywhere

This was exciting to me and it is with any juried show as it can be very hard to get in them
This quilt was in one of the stores on Main Street and I knew the pattern as I did one of these quilts back in 2004 Turning Twenty.......made my heart sing!! Gorgeous work!
More Daffodils, my grandma Galbreath called them Jonquils which I looked it up they are called this in different parts of the country
I was so excited to see this.......sign!
                                                             Street signs in Gloucester
In the center of town the theme was painting the town
                                                                       Beautiful Town
                                                Gorgeous Daffodils EVERYWHERE
This is where the bathrooms are in Gloucester Va and it was in the jail....haha
Built in 1873 the Gloucester jail
This concludes my pictures of the Gloucester Virginia Daffodil Festival THANKS AGAIN FOR Everything!!!

As always trying to hike when I can....I just love it! Gotta keep protecting myself from ticks they have actually been out already this year

The trees are changing and I am seeing green on the hikes and tree buds
I saw this adorable little mushroom and I found the feathers on the hike
This week has been beyond busy......as always planting time is always an added amount of work along with the usual, it just means other stuff piles up, I am not as fast as I used to be and I get done what I get done now. Most of my seedling have come up in  the greenhouse and my radishes are up in the high tunnel.
The okra is up and I still have to transplant today. I hope to finish that in the greenhouse and get the shade cloth up too. We are bottle feeding four baby goats sooo I have to stop and go make bottles.....I just love it!

Here are all the transplants I did yesterday, Bruce came in and said it looks like you got a hundred done....I said no not that many and Bruce of course being a numbers person says no you did a 106 these are all early jalapenos, which I can't even get enough jalapenos

Since its Easter Weekend coming up and I haven't been able to do my usual Easter Stuff like making peanut butter eggs and baking goodies, and candies I will share this video with you of Dusty when he was like Two and he tells you the bunny is coming.....AWWW
I promise you, it is soooo sweet!!
The classes are filing fast and I am sooo excited to show/tell you what I know

This weekends market is at Smithfield Farmers Market on Main Street behind the BSV Bank in Smithfield Virginia from 9-12 I hope you can make it out. I know lots of my customers are excited to get back tot the market. I am too and see my market family.
