Another Snow Storm 🌨️ Blizzard Warnings

Hello and welcome this was Fridays delivery of SNOW! ❄️ However they are currently calling for a Blizzard Warning. Which in the warning it states 2-3 Feet and high winds with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The trees are weighted down now as it is. Today is sunny this Saturday afternoon. Bruce was cutting wood to prepare us for the boiler since he would be unable to do so if the blizzard comes. We only cut wood of downed trees and trees that are dead. We haven’t bought wood loads in over two years. There just is no money for buying the loads. The first two years we were here we did buy large loads of wood, so all Bruce had to do was cut the wood into small pieces for the boiler or the Pioneer Princess stove. We have bought the large contractor type bags full of wood for $40 bucks but now they aren’t available like they used to be. The company here stopped selling them. It was very convenient as they were already split to fit in your fireplace or hearth. Sometimes the local hardware store will have them and we will get Colby to pick one up for us but the low income has kept us from purchasing them as much as we would like to. So today he has spent most of the day cutting wood and splitting it to prepare for the blizzard coming our way.
Just look at those beautiful colors of nature, it sure makes me happy and feel so proud to see it.

The purples and the oranges just make you feel the beautiful light. This would make a wonderful painting.

The trees are still weighted down and to add more snow is scary. 🫣
Of course I always like to get close up shots of plants and those icicles.

This is in the back yard I just love how the sun shines on the trees.

Breathtaking views

Rosie was loving the snow. I had to give her a treat to come inside.
Look at her go

I took some random pics so you can see how it looks now before the blizzard hits.
This was Friday morning.

Bruce had cleared the porch and you can see it was piled up.

The John Deere Gator was not happy with all the snow. That’s our plow. We got this John Deere in 2015 and it was the best thing we had done to get around the farm in. I am thankful for it!!! Can’t say it enough.

Peace Out. Bruce and I. We are still boiling sap for the maple syrup. Today we collected 8 five gallon buckets full. I rode in the gator but that was the most we have collected in all the times. We have got 6 1/2 five gallon buckets full before. Which is the usual. I worked on my mushroom project most of the day. Here and there. Taking care of my plants. We are having chili from bags we froze for supper. Take care and have a great day and weekend.
Much love and good vibes,

100 Days of Scribbles Days 40-50

Hello and welcome it’s a happy Friday here we got a downpour of snow a lot. My husband had to plow the driveway twice and the porch twice. It’s piles everywhere. I wanted to share the scribbles as they continue we reach 50 yesterday and today was 51 but you will see that one in another 10 days. It has been so much fun I love it. The scribbles can be anything or even one mark on the paper. A crayon mark or even a pencil mark it’s all whatever you like. It moves energy and hella your brain to create. When you need to feed the artist soul these marks count. As one must know that making art or anything music, writing, painting you name it if it’s creative it feeds your imagination and your artistic spirit and soul. Makes one happy!! I know it does for me. It truly is a beautiful gift.

f you want to see the others they are here http://creationsbydawn.blogspot.com/2026/02/days-11-20-scribbles-project.html

This one was a reminder for me….. and perhaps others. I get overwhelmed in my head of all the things I have to do. As a Cancer ♋️ we do like to live in our heads.
This was for the 50 day mark as it’s an undertaking to complete these 100 day projects if you are familiar with them.
Just collaging and enjoying the process

My old mermaids I always make mermaids and she is one I would paint on bags to sell at the market. This book that my scribbles are in is an old sketchbook that is just plain sketch paper. It bleeds thru but that can create a start for the next day. Instead of a white page.

Creating manifestations such a wonderful feeling I love the book The Art of Manifesting
This one is one I did for my nine children as a mom words that mean something to me. With nine children there was some chaos like getting everyone to a game or even in the car. We had a 15 passenger van.
The energy is so high
One of my favorites of art making
This is one of the girls I draw all the time we need peace!! Do we ever!
You will laugh at this one, meet Penelope she is a menopausal bunny. When Krista told the story I laughed so hard and this was the bunny I imagined. Haha. She’s a keeper!

Sending much love or mush love, πŸ„πŸ„‍🟫
 Peace ☮️

Soap Making Since 2003

Hello and welcome today I thought I would share some of the stories of our years of soap making. It all started in my single wide trailer in 2003. We had six children and one on the way. I had been messing around with all the body products for years. So I started off with melt and pour soaps. It was wonderful. Being a Mastergardener I was growing all kinds of herbs and infusing them into the oils. I ordered lye and started making the cold process soaps right in the kitchen. Bruce would come home and tell me you can’t be doing that. Oh YES I CAN!! I did! It was fun and I felt like a scientist. I’ve always said everything I do is science but I don’t know the exact details of it. The chemical composition or makeup. Once I was in a class oh gosh I loved this women! I am terrible with remembering names always have been. She was a chemist who was a jeweler. She taught me many things on jewelry making.  That’s a whole different story. I digress. Sorry. Anywho she would tell us oh you need to buy that just mix this and that together. Oh how I wish I could of gone to college. Being self taught on many levels it would of been very interesting for me to be able to go to college. I didn’t have that opportunity in my life. I was told at 18 your gone! I left at 17. Why wait??

I would employ the boys to box the soaps 🧼 this is Colten I have come across a many of these types of pictures of the boys boxing soaps. They were very good at it.

We did lots of shows back then. I was doing craft and garden shows right after we got married. I would make bookmarks and painted stuff to sell.
Bruce made soap the other day the Palm Free Lavender

These are our five pound molds. This was the patchouli saffron. We have 15lb molds as well but with Bruce’s neck he doesn’t want to use them anymore and it takes so much more product to make them and then you have a whole lot more of one type of soap and no variety. You basically put all your eggs in one basket making the larger molds. Unless you are selling a lot. Then it’s all good!
These are some of my besties over the years. I miss them all so much. We all would always to get together and make art. Just lovely. Kathy, Carol and Julie. Waving at you Guys! Love ya! Miss our charm swaps, doll swaps and get togethers. Good times!

This was when I had samples out to smell
Here we are around 2014 at the Smithfield Farmers Market
We had our soaps in many different stores
Here I had wood burned the dog on the rack Bruce had made plus I painted all the signs. This was for the Suffolk Art Museum. I also had some of my copper jewelry there too. That was great happenings for me in my life. Having my art pieces in the museums store.

One of our favorite sellers

Drying racks as the cold processed soaps take longer to cure. Between 4-6 weeks depending on the humidity or if you use a dehumidifier. I let it all be au natural.
This is one of my favorite pictures. Cody would do a market on Wednesday morning and I did one on Wednesday afternoon so he would meet me there after his market and help me set up etc. plus he had three different jobs and was in high school. Of course this was summer time. He slept on the cooler full of eggs. I love you Cody!!! Well I finally have internet back this morning. Colby woke up and his money was in his account and yay! I asked immediately can you turn the internet back on? Within minutes it was back in service. Thank you Colby we really appreciate it. He even bought me home a goat cheese and some gluten free crackers today and some eggs. I was so grateful. Thank you!! Well today was my three hour paint class and I was so glad the internet got back on. Yay!!!! It is so nice to be in communication and community with these amazing ladies. Thank you!
Happy dance and I should be back to normal by tomorrow. Maybe or maybe not???
Good vibes, 😎
