Tag's, Tag's Everywhere Tag's ~~~Traveling Beer, Wine, and Alcohol Tag's~~~

Hello again and HAPPY WEEKEND!!! Well yes paradise found.......is exactly what making these tags has been about. I signed up for a year long swap where you make tags from different countries and each month we get a new month. This was a Caribbean Island....well I chose Aruba.  Who wouldn't want to go there???? Well I hear so much about this wonderful place from friends who have visited that...I decided that was my island of choice. I had no idea there were soooo many islands and oh my I have learned so much doing this swap on Swap-Bot because each time you get a different country you basically gotta learn about it to get the feel of it and of course know the ALCOHOL of choice....well I can see myself sitting on the beach in Aruba drinking a coconut mixed drink....perhaps a coconut crusher or a coconut pie. YUM! So that was my drink of choice for this swap. I decorated the tag with sprays and stamps and used my Montana Markers for the side in black.

The tag has those 3D stickers you buy at Michael's and I painted this side using my Gelli-Plate which you make tags super quick and easy and FAB!

Of course I love charms and this sun charm was perfect. I buy most of my charms from Etsy...so many to pick from! I used embroidery floss also to put with the fibers.

Some of the stickers are Jolee's too. Which who couldn't love those...they ARE so darn cute!

Here I cut the ARUBA silhouette in Black Bazzill cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo....it turned out exactly as I wanted! This one went to Canada.

Of course this is my Italy tag

I still have tons of buttons from my term with Rusty Pickle and I still use them...This is one of my favorite things to do make grapes with them...which I also did for the wine recipe book.

The leaves are CuttleBug dies from a longtime back.
If you look closely I even found a Chianti wine charm advertised on Etsy as vintage charm...gotta love it!

Well I choose Chianti Wine I mean pure perfection I used encaustic wax on the tag and love these feel of it...I use R&F

The tag was a lot of fun to make. Now I need that glass of wine.

This is Germany tag, I used an old Quickutz container to make the box for the tag. I had the Germany paper from a swap years back...the Prost is actually A Quickutz alpha.

This was a lot of fun! The front of the tag

The back of the tag

Again I used the Gelli-Plate  for the tag itself love love love the Gelli-Plate

The box with the lid on

This is similar to the Italy tag but this actually the Paris tag, I actually went to Paris in the tenth grade and while there drank wine...and beer. There was no age limit then in France or if it was IDK...I bought beer at the McDonalds in Paris and I thought I was it! Again my button technique....the wine bottle is Quickutz

The label is from one of my favorite of all time swappers thanks sweet Lu! I aged it with Tim Holtz inks and the wine glass is also Quickutz the tag was made with alcohol inks by Ranger.

The ink on the goblet is Copic

Rub-ons and more Rusty Pickle buttons

The box I made for the tag, I bought the Vins on Etsy

It looked so nice in the box

The Russia Tag which I think was my most favorite too

I bought all the goodies from Scrapbook.com

There was a lot of wonderful Russia items for purchase

Of course the alcohol of choice was VODKA

I used a lot of fibers

A great collage for Russia

The Babushka Doll

I do love the dolls, see that wonderful Russia paper from Scrapbook.com

the papers are from Scrapbookcustoms.com that I bought from Scrapbook.com

Well this is the last one I just completed for this month and I had England....well Castle Rock is the alcohol of choice and an evening at the Pub....I love the English flag Union Jack its everywhere, cell phone covers, craft items, charms, etc... I first embossed the tag with the Tim Holtz Sizzix folder of the London icon. I used some of Paper House Productions stickers they are just too cute!

Again more of the Paper House Productions and the Castle Rock beer the inks from Tim Holtz

So much fun these tags are....if ya want to join the next round go HERE or keep an eye out from swap hostess to hold the next one which will be again real soon

The Screech Owl by Castle Rock

The bottle cap

The ribbon is some I dyed and the adorable Union Jack buttons are from Etsy

You can see the thickness of the stickers here....too cute!
Our next tag is Mexico which of course you all know me and my margaritas....mmmmmm.
Well today I cleaned house and the boys helped too...I'm ready for my next page in my journal and hopefully go to the quilt show tomorrow. Have a great evening and Sunday too!! I cooked the boys spaghetti for dinner and I am having spaghetti squash. Yummy!

An ATC Sunday!!!! Share your ATC Art too!

Here is an ATC card I made a few weeks back for a lady in Norway I traded as a partner on Swap-Bot
I used a bunch of different collage pieces, some rhinestones from Prima, of course some buttons, and some Copic pens.

This ATC card is one using the Pan Pastels and Crafter's Worskshop Stencils. Which I buy mostly at Scrapbook.com and Donna Downey which BTW has a new book out!!  Signature Series By Donna Downey!!! WTG Donna!!! That's awesome and YES I have ordered my signed copy. This also was a trade on Swap-Bot.

Yes you guessed it! All about cupcakes ATC, here this one went to Sweden. It was also a trade on Swap-Bot. I have had a great time on Swap-Bot trading. This swap you had to make a cupcake with a butterfly for the theme. I used Copic pens, Prima pearls, Melissa Francess pearls. I love how it turned out. On the vintage papers for a background. The square 1x1 pieces are inchies that I added.
This ATC I actually already put up on the blog, but wanted to reshare in this weeks ATC Sunday. I made this one for my first ATC in a really really long time...like over two years or more since I made any ATC. I used a mixed media background on Strathmore papers, used the ATC cut-out punch from Sizzix. A few stencils, stamps, rub-ons, etc. Hand sewed the pearls on and beads. Used Copics too.
This ATC card is a STEAMPUNK themed. This one also was a Swap-Bot trade. I used the Graphic 45 papers of the Steampunk Debutante Collection I cut the octopus out of the Silhouette Cameo. Also the seaweed I cut from Silhouette Cameo. I named it Jules Debutante. The gears I bought from
Michael's in the jewelry section.

Now it's your turn you will have a until next Saturday morning my time to add any of your ATC art to share. All you have to do is link it up. Share your post of the ATC card you would like to share, it can be older as long as it is an ATC. Thanks.

Hello all,
Today brings recipe #5 Peppermint Bark, and also I told you yesterday that I would share the class from Friday at Ornamentea, with Patti Digh and Cynthia Deis. Lets start off with Friday the whole idea was to reconnect with someone whom you have lost contact by snail mail and not email or Facebook. We all had the creative juices flowing and just made ART!! We had a blast talking and listening to Patti Digh author of several books which I would HIGHLY recommend just awesome reading material...so positive and such great ideas for self help and ideas to make the little things count. They sell them right at Ornamentea go HERE.  My reconnection art was sent to my aunt Gracie who as a child was such a wonderful person to have in my life, so positive and the IDEAL mother!! She was a "crafter", a cook, and a picture taker...whats better...LOL! Also she took me to buy my first bra, oh my how long ago was that!!!! If everyone could have a mother like her they would have had the BEST! She is my fathers sister and whenever I would come around she just made me feel so special and loved. Her daughter which was always my favorite cousin. We just always had great times. I wanted to know that my aunt Gracie was a VERY special person in my life inspite of not connecting all the time! Love ya Gracie!! Now you are the owner of some of my art.  I have put up some of the work from the class reconnection mail art class. I didn't have every ones for some reason I missed some. Talking too much I'm sure, lol!!! We just had a fun filled relaxing day. Patti signed her books for me and Dawn brought us some vegan hot chocolate...yummy!! We played around taking pics after wards and just had a wonderful day...thanks Patti and Cynthia.
Last night
we had our first pizza from the pizza oven,it is official done now he is going to add the cosmetic part...the finishing touches. We had a blast it was snowing which is BIG here in NC. We hardly ever get snow and we go several years without any. So when we get it, it is just plain fun and exciting. We had a fire in the outdoor fireplace and ate our pizza in the snow....yummy! I will post those pics tomorrow...just so many pics with the recipes.
Peppermint Bark
1 1/2 cups of Chocolate discs (I use Guittard)
9 squares of white chocolate (Store brand)
2 drops of peppermint oil (Wilton)
peppermint disc candies (or candy canes)
See pics above start by measuring the chocolate pour into microwave safe dish and cook on high for one minute then 30 sec intervals stirring between times. Do not get any water around your chocolate and do not over cook. Drop one to two drops of the peppermint oil into chocolate. Then pour into 13x9 sprayed with Pam and even out, place in freezer for several minutes. Crush up peppermint disc I used 20 but it is a personal choice and you can use candy canes instead of the peppermint disc candy. Then melt the white chocolate, mix in crushed peppermint and drop one to two drops of the peppermint oil into the white chocolate. Now pour over the cold chocolate and smooth out well. Place back in freezer for a few minutes and bam you have peppermint bark to enjoy and give as gifts.
The container was a Rubbemaid container that came in a set from Dollar General for $2 bucks and I took Staz-On ink and used the Tim Holtz stamps, stamped the container. If you mess up or do not like the image just use 70% rubbing alcohol ink and remove...start over. Then I took cheap muslin ripped into strips inked using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks Pine Needles and then using Tim Holtz stamps stamped the ribbon with Brushed Corduroy. The deer is one of Tim Holtz new Sizzix dies and his paper line too. The red yarn I have had foreverrrr, the flower is a piece of Prima flowers. Hope you like it and it took like 15 minutes tops to make.....oh so simple!!! I buy my chocolate at Wine and Cake Hobbies if you need somewhere to buy chocolate, but any chocolate will do even the Baker's Semi-sweet chocolate. Have a WONDERFUL Sunday and stay warm. Cyber Hugs, Dawn Gallop
