The 48 Weeks Journal Workshop By Donna Downey My Version of Week #18 ~Love the Story~

Hello once again....since I wrote in the blog last a lot has happened, as you know that's life! I told Bruce that all I wanted for Valentine's Day (however I expected nothing) as we worked and traveled that day to the Wine and Chocolate Festival which I spoke of in my last post see below. For Valentine's Day was to paint....it is really hard for me as someone/somebody/something always needs or wants me. No complaints there! So when I get to paint its just so wonderful and relaxing. The last time I got to work on the 48 Weeks Workshop was my last entry for the Week #17  back in late October 2019. You know the rest is history....always busy. I am always tired too idk if its the Fibromyalgia or just old age or the fact its winter, raining, no sunshine, and COLD. So I have been extremely tired. I keep working as I have too, when I am finally finished (if that's a word on a farm), I am too tired to paint. So for Valentine's Day I wanted to paint....SO I DID...it wasn't Valentine's Day but it happened and that's all I care about. I GOT TO PAINT!!!! YAY!!!! I went way off path of Donna but that's me...when I am on roll.....other times it will be very very similar to Donna's with as Mindy Lacefield always said "with a touch of Dawn" referring to the paintings. I spent a whole weekend with Mindy Lacefield at Donna Downey's one weekend when Dina Wakley came to teach at Donna's place. If you would like to check out the 48 Weeks Workshop. She has some amazing classes to offer online and in person.
I was so very happy with this painting in the journal I am calling LOVE THE STORY. I love to paint and journal so much its a true LOVE that I am very passionate about....and absolutely LOVE!! I think it, dream it, and talk about it all the time.

If you would like to see any of my other weeks go to the week below. As I have said this all started back in 2013/2014 and here I am only on week 18....as I always say "better late than never"....works here!

I used the Rebekah Meier stencil I bought back in October at Art and Soul..... Go HERE to see the post. In that post you actually see my cat Jack who now is not so tiny anymore....he sleeps with Bruce every night. The flowers I punched out with an EkSuccess flower punch. The paints are Golden Paints. The paper I used is the Basic Gray which y friend Beverly gave me awhile back its called Lime Rickey (that goes way back......)

This stencil was also Rebekah Meier as well I had bought this one so time ago now.

So this Saturday we were at Grassfield High School for the craft show which is always AMAZING we have great customers there and I get to see all my vendor family and just have a great time. We had snow on Thursday and Friday there was no school, so I was so worried they would cancel the show....but so THANKFUL they didn't it was a GO! YAY!! They always have a great raffle ticket where for $10 you buy a arms length of tickets and if they draw one of your numbers you WIN...well my number got drawn three times......SWEEEEEET so my number was one of the first drawings and I won the rooster picture by Frank Cambron with his business Paintings, Portraits, Animal Pictures and More, OMG what a beautiful painting!!! Then I won again towards the end of the day....and I got the colored pencil art from Dismal Swamp Girl Studio.....love them both! Week 1 of 48 Weeks "Fly" a Class Taught by Donna Downey

Hello again hey look I published another post all in the same week, with that being said I'm right proud of myself!!! When I can actually sit long enough to type on the computer.....with all the boys lefty at home I stay more busier than when I had all nine home. It has something to do all boys and the lack of the help from the older ones.....I'm guessing, lol!!! I do miss having the girls here for some help, and washing a few loads of clothes.....well anyway on to business.....I had signed up for Donna Downey 48 weeks class online after about the fourth week of emails of inspiration.......I was like I don't have time to take an online class most that I do sign up for I never get to do or I watch a few videos.....its not that I loose interest its called TIME! Well in the last two weeks I haven't even got to watch a video or even touch the journal designated just for 48 weeks~! I completed week 3 when I signed up because I actually had all the necessities to complete the class without going to the store or ordering something......and when you live in the middle of no where you have to wait until you go to "town" to get things. So I started off with week three and because of course I was way behind the others.....but not really it turns out everyone is at different places and some are even way ahead! Bravo!! The inspiration has been over the top and of course the fun and excitement of the sharing of others. In 2009 I met Donna Downey for the first time at an Inspired Event thanks to one of my friends Cathleen Smith who shared her events with me.....when I met Cathleen at the Rusty Pickle Design Team event in Utah. When Cathleen asked me to come I was like who is Donna Downey......I know lol!! Well that was all she wrote I signed up for the event and have been fortunate enough to attend several events since and it is ALWAYS pure pleasure and a renewing experience with Donna. I could tell you endless things she has done for me! Well needless to say I'm hooked! So this class was a must it is just getting it by my husband who doesn't let me spend money unless he knows every cent! So this was a big deal!!  I never even told him because he will get mad a me....sounds crazy I know but I am sure glad I took the risk!!! LOL! You can view Donna's and some of the other students work on Donna's Blog for week 1 GO HERE
I really enjoyed week 1

The face was a new for me on the "tiny" version!!

The bird was a perfect touch I thought

I hope you too can join our group at 48 weeks
Thanks for looking and have a great rest of the week...I will try to post week 3 as soon as I can...I was hoping to work on week 7 but looks like I will be working week 2 next....

Stuck On You Sketches "The Lips of an Angel"

SOUS Blog Challenge this week using the ever so talented Beggahuna.
Using the wonderful papers of Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection
The picture is of my beautiful granddaughter Abigail who is four. Her lips are red from the lipstick
she was wearing playing dress up. She even has a feather boa around her neck.
The flowers are Prima and the rub ons are Basic Grey.
Tulle around the ring.
I inked and stamped the background using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger.

The wings are chipboard painted then crackled. The pins are Maya Road. Vintage lace and buttons. The pink butterfly
is from Wal-Mart. The other butterflies are handmade by me. The title is cut from Silhouette SD.

Abigail is like an Angel to us..and I thought this quote fit so well.
Angels are direct creations of God, each one a unique Master's piece.

The picture is of Dusty in 2009, we always have a big garden and we all work in it,
I so enjoy taking pictures of the children in the garden.
I have used a Prima butterfly pick, Prima flowers, Silhouette SD for the circle, the title, and iron gate.
Skeleton leaves, 7 Gypsies , DCWV, Graphic 45, MME papers used. Basic Grey card

Martha Stewart punches, Creative Imaginations rub-ons, tags, Tim Holtz stamps,

Hello all,
Yep you know it....I just can't seem to post as much this time of year...with gardening, school projects and all the other goodies I have going on......which at this point is toooooo much!!! This week brings you the SOUS using one of Suepup's sketches....some Amazing sketches she has. be sure to check out her blog http://suepup.blogspot.com/ .  Every other week SOUS has a new sketch and a challenge so be sure to join us. Then every other week we have a tutorial on some amazing ideas and techniques...be sure to check them out. I like to hang pictures up on the wall and thought I should do a 12x12 layout on a canvas, so I did....and since this week was the beginning of week 1 at Christy Tomlinson's She Art class. I thought well yeah perfect timing......a wonderful class a must!!!!
Having all that inspiration running through I have put together a small tutorial to get you started on making 12x12 canvas layouts and then you can hang them or gift them. Fun and so touchable....lol!! You know I like texture and thickness....so these are perfect for that. Not to mention painterly fun!!!!
So get those paints out and have a great time!!! Hope you have a super weekend!!! Cyber Hugs, Dawn
