In the Garden
Using a 12x12 canvas
and a sketch by SuePup
You can view her blog at
http://suepup.blogspot.com/

The picture is of Dusty in 2009, we always have a big garden and we all work in it,
I so enjoy taking pictures of the children in the garden.
I have used a Prima butterfly pick, Prima flowers, Silhouette SD for the circle, the title, and iron gate.
Skeleton leaves, 7 Gypsies , DCWV, Graphic 45, MME papers used. Basic Grey card

Martha Stewart punches, Creative Imaginations rub-ons, tags, Tim Holtz stamps,
Tattered Angels butterfly and magnify glass.
I added Artlenz to the magnify glass.
The quote is so perfect
Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there.
~Thomas Fuller, Gnomolgia 1732

Using a 12x12 primed canvas collect your supplies, and papers.
I always use Golden Paints

Apply using the Traci Bautista collage glue
I buy mine from Joann's

Apply stamps and inks

paints, drying with a heat gun

design to your liking

here was the finished canvas before papers were applied to make the layout

Ink your edges

decide how you would like to lay them
I placed the iron gate down after the first layer

Apply using adhesive and a hot glue gun for the flowers

Hello all,
Yep you know it....I just can't seem to post as much this time of year...with gardening, school projects and all the other goodies I have going on......which at this point is toooooo much!!! This week brings you the SOUS using one of Suepup's sketches....some Amazing sketches she has. be sure to check out her blog http://suepup.blogspot.com/ .  Every other week SOUS has a new sketch and a challenge so be sure to join us. Then every other week we have a tutorial on some amazing ideas and techniques...be sure to check them out. I like to hang pictures up on the wall and thought I should do a 12x12 layout on a canvas, so I did....and since this week was the beginning of week 1 at Christy Tomlinson's She Art class. I thought well yeah perfect timing......a wonderful class a must!!!!
Having all that inspiration running through I have put together a small tutorial to get you started on making 12x12 canvas layouts and then you can hang them or gift them. Fun and so touchable....lol!! You know I like texture and thickness....so these are perfect for that. Not to mention painterly fun!!!!
So get those paints out and have a great time!!! Hope you have a super weekend!!! Cyber Hugs, Dawn

Lolli for 2

http://mymindseye.typepad.com/.a/6a01053647c676970c012877797dc4970c-pi
Hello everyone, I made this lo last night for the MME #8 Challenge and the ribbon challenge on SB.com Using the sketch provided by Anam Stubbington. The challenge to use red and/or pink. With these totally awesome papers from My Mind's Eye I knew right away the pics I wanted to use.. I know they are not the best pics....but it was one of those days outside working in the yard and my neighbor brought over the kids a giant bag of Halloween candy. Well the kids were like in paradise. Dusty started off with chocolates and then a sucker. We were all sitting around having a break and I looked and I saw Dusty letting Boomer share his sucker, now if that is not an act of love. I grabbed the camera and started taking pics. I then gave him a new sucker...lol!! I just thought how sweet of him to share with Boomer. I tried to capture the feeling here of a 1234 story telling. The paisleys were made from the Cricut Paisley cart. cut at 2, 2 1/2, and 3. Some of the paisleys came in the MME paper pack. I'm so glad I got this posted, whew!! I have been promising all week, I have had sick babies all week, and even as I type this Dusty is asleep on my lap. So I thank you so much for your patients, and appreciate all your heartfelt comments. Take Care, Dawn

My Mind's Eye Challenge ~Go Green~

Good Morning!! I had made this lo for the awesome challenge at MME click HERE! This month the Challenge is to use the song lyrics from U2 "Every Generation gets a chance to change the world." So well said!! Well I thought about it and I was thinking about what are we teaching our children so that they will change the world. It all starts in beginning, children learn love, respect, and healthy habits. We as a family having been practicing the GO GREEN!!!! So I put together this lo about how they are practicing go green so they will get the chance to change the world.
The clock represents now is the time, the butterfly for change, the reuse symbol to protect our environment. Little brother, Big brother on how they work together. The pics are of Cooper and Dusty. The bottom right is Cooper putting the kitchen scraps in the compost, the bottom left is Cooper carrying in the groceries using the recyclable bags, which I love they hold so much and easy to carry. Top right is Cooper and Dusty pulling the wagon carrying the milk jugs to the recycle bin. Top left is Dusty wearing his cloth diapers.
