The snow came as they said it would and my car is all snowed on |
|
The boys put out bird seed and they came |
Hello and welcome to day #16......only 8 more days until Christmas! Well the snow came just as predicted, this makes three snow falls this year............UNBELIEVABLE!! Now I wish I had more winter clothes, we usually just have such mild winters that we don't own a whole lot of wintery warm clothing. It has been oh so beautiful and the boys have been loving it, every time it snows he says "Is it Christmas today?" LOL!! We had put out the bird seed the other day and they had found it, we did have up a whole pole of feeders, but hubby had to move it because of the pizza oven and we can't see it now from the window. I love watching birds.
The cream cheese mints are so good they are hard to stop eating. I packaged them up in the little boxes that I purchased from Michael's in the cake section (you could make them on the Cricut). There are also many SVG files to use with SCAL. Wrap with a ribbon and done a perfect little yummy gift! You have probably had these mints at weddings or during the holidays. Awesome and can be so beautiful using the molds. The molds I have are from
Wine and Cake Hobbies the molds are called flexible mint molds they come in many styles and are fun but can be time consuming so pull up a chair and have a seat it will be awhile. Today I was fortunate to have help from my dd Alexis and her friend Megan. Thanks you two!
Cream Cheese Mints
3 oz. package of cream cheese
2 1/4 cups of powdered sugar
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of mint oil (any flavoring)
food coloring (optional) just a few drops
Beat the cream until soft, add the food coloring and flavoring. Mix until the mixture is like a dough-like texture. Roll the cream cheese mixture into large pea size balls and place into the mold if using, or onto the parchment paper lined plate/pan/tray. Refrigerate until firm, serve or give as a gift.
Apples and Oranges
A box of Dunkin' Doughnuts holes
chocolates (melted)
leaves (mine I have had from Wine and Cake)
you could use fondant ones cut from your Cricut Cake, or just cut out with a leaf cookie cutter. Even paper ones....let your imagination sore. These are cute for any holiday like little pumpkins, pink ones for bunnies at Easter using tiny paper ears and toothpicks....you name it!! The kiddos will love just to decorate these and present to daddy or whomever. EASY!!! Melt your chocolate in the microwave starting on one minute, then 30 seconds, then 15 seconds stirring between each cook cycle. You can even add oils to chocolate for added flavoring.
These recipes were from a class many years ago at the Wine and Cake they even sell the plastic leaves, they are washable and reusable I had mine before the Cricut existed. So use your imagination to make your leaves. Before I go I wanted to let you know my husband made dinner tonight (which is like RARE) and now he is making a
fried OREO.....and has been taking pics so I will share them tomorrow...LOL!!! I can't wait to taste these yummy creations.......Cyber Hugs, Dawn Gallop

Love all the baking you've been doing. Oh my I'd make a fool of myself over those brownies! Normally I don't like chocolate as much - but Takoda...he must love it! I think we'll try these too!! LOVE that large cookie you all made. Very clever!
I love all the pictures of the kids baking. Just something so cute about those chef hats!!
I've got to get a new cricut - mine is acting odd on occasion and I'm wondering if the imagine works like the "normal" cricut as well as prints? I mean do you have to print everything or can I just use as an expression as well? I'm so undecided!
Have a good weekend!
