World Tattoo Day

Hello and welcome if you have a love of ink ๐ŸซŸ then I know why you’re here. Being an artist I have had this complete fascination with tattoos and body art. Of course as you may have experienced this is your life…. You were told they were terrible and only the bad people got them. Well yes that’s the same thing I heard too. Of course my husband was against them as well. This will blow your mind but as a young adult I was told I could not have one. Yes I was grown and married and had children. Finally around 1995 I convinced him I was getting one no matter what. I would do it after work if he didn’t go along with it. Does this sound ridiculous? Yes it was… no one wants to be in a relationship and the significant other wants to control what you do, I mean to a certain extent for sure. You don’t want to do anything wrong or anything that makes them upset with you. I’m saying all this from experiences. I did get the first tattoo in 1995 a skull. ๐Ÿ’€ YES! you heard correct. I was working at the hospital on the third floor of med-surg and I came home and told him I had an appointment in Carrollton Virginia. Well we went and it cost like $30 bucks. I know right!! Way to cheap. Then of course my family told me I would get aids, hepatitis, you name it. So I had those worries along with the fact I was the mom to four children and a husband who had got hurt at work when a backhoe had come down on him while working. Like I needed another thing to worry about. I had even worked 16 hour shifts and would crash into these vivid dreams.
Colby has got both his tattoos with girlfriends involved and he even has a tattoo gun. He even had one of his girlfriends trace over the tat, not a great idea when you’re not experienced. However one must learn……… you decide. What do I know.

This is one of my son and dil friends she had sent this to me.
My son Colten

This is my elephant I had done in 2020

This is in Carrollton Virginia. David at Primal Tattoo he has done two of my tats. I highly recommend him. He has a lot of back pain like me and doing the tats are hard on the back.
This is what I got for my 50th birthday.

Peace love and bees
My daughter Crystal has a lot of tats reminds me of what I thought as a teen I would be.

This was my Thermofax I owned for making screen prints of sold it years later for a good amount.

I still have those shoes lol. It was 2020 and when we got there we didn’t have to wear the masks.
I love her tattoos she was at Amelia’s and Cody’s wedding.
I didn’t think I would make it today for the a blog post. I have been so tired lately and having been doing the 100 day project which is been a bit overwhelming lately. I know it’s supposed to be no stress but the paintings and the comprehensive part of the project is really difficult but rewarding. Nothing comes easy!
Well better go. We have been watching Ghosts series and it’s very entertaining. I have laughed a lot. Good vibes.
Much love,

Happy Ostara ~ Spring Equinox

Hello and a warm welcome yes a very beautiful spring day. From all the snow to sunshine and 50 degrees Fahrenheit here today. It was the first day we left the house in a very long time. Almost two weeks. Which isn’t a very long time, it’s just that when you couldn’t even go outdoors due to the depth of snow we have endured. I am so glad to see a warm day. Cody came over to collect his sap and Colby helped him. After my zoom class we left to go get our eggs. Which is so Ostara. Planting seeds and fertility.

Briar is now four months old. She is so happy and beautiful. Her adorable smile just makes me fill with joy. Time flies however it seems like the winter has been long.

Hello sweetheart she is just the sweetest. The boys call her Sissy.
Her little outfit is so cute too. The sun is just shining so much today.

Fun in Florida
Alexis and Tara.

Whist we were out we stopped at the thrift store I found a pair of snow bibs on a blue tag special (color of the week) I got them for $7.00 they are old but made in the USA so you know they have to be from the early 80s. They even say union made. I looked them up and someone said they were vintage from the 70s. Oh they will be great and lightweight.

Well better go for now. It’s much too late and way past my bedtime. Take care and have a great weekend.
Mush love and good vibes,

Tybee Island, Georgia USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Hello and a big howdy ho for a Happy Thursday! What it seems this week has actually moved super quickly for a time just a few days ago I told you that time had hit pause. Well thanks to sunshine and these beautiful pictures of my daughter and her lovely family time has unpaused. I wonder was unpaused a word back in the past say 50 years ago……hold up let’s look…….no unpausing I will BRB.
Unpaused became a word in the 1970s it was added to the 1977 Oxford English Dictionary. I knew it had to be around then as we had 8 tracks. I can remember always trying to get to my favorite track and having a time and half. I had so many different tracks. Well now let’s get to the fun!!! Alexis and her family are in Tybee Georgia that sweeeeet van has arrived in Tybee Island, Georgia. I know Tybee from books and artist's from the area. Here is a link to the books https://www.google.com/search?q=tybee+georgia+books+about&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari#lfId=ChxjMe
I have seen them beforehand. I have also seen some of the YouTube videos about Tybee Island.
Those local books are my favorites to read. One of my very favorites was the Della Gaskill book from Ocracoke Island. I have a signed copy.

We have been to Savannah as a Girl Scout trip around the 2003. It was great fun. Plus who doesn’t love eating the pecan pralines. I actually have to recipe on the blog.  http://creationsbydawn.blogspot.com/2010/12/necklace-and-recipe-1-pecan-pralines.html

They had coffee
There is my beautiful daughter and sweet grandsons Ledger and Riggs.

Walks on the beach and the pier will have you so relaxed enjoying the sounds of the ocean, the seagulls. The wind on your face with the sunshine just filling you will joy and Vitamin D. A great place to stop and enjoy some sketching or a painting of Plein  air.
Cool hats and glasses for a comfortable day in the sun. ☀️
The food at the pier 16 was delicious. A great way to celebrate and enjoy yourselves. A great place to eat https://share.google/yldxE5prlrW4an58M
The wait wasn’t long at all and with a lot of children in tow it was a smooth special treat. https://share.google/yldxE5prlrW4an58M

Beach time
Build us a castle Theo
Hello, I love smell of the ocean and the crashing of waves. Thanks mom for keeping bundled this is a great view and nice place to visit. ❤️
Everyone enjoyed themselves. A nice place to spend quality time with the family relaxing and viewing the beautiful seascape.

They stayed at the Hotel Tybee https://www.reservationdesk.com/hotel/5fe19ac/hotel-tybee

It was a nice family place, one of the rooms they rented didn’t have a shower curtain. I am thinking that perhaps it was changed and whoever was working forgot to put one back up. That has happened to me before. We all worked together cleaning cottages at the beaches in The Outerbanks of NC. Wonderful place to visit! Bruce and I grew up there so it will always hold a special place in our hearts. ๐Ÿ’ž I can write a book on what happened while we were cleaning cottages. I’m seriously having a huge smile on my face thinking of the times. Perhaps another story for another day. The whole thing I have forgotten to clean an oven or something silly like that before. Usually the supervisor would have checked behind us or even whomever forgot the shower curtain. Hey they are people too and it happens. Bruce and I had the same thing happen to us on a motel they were remodeling on our way to Florida last summer. It was in Tennessee close to the Lodge Museum. Here is the link to the museum http://creationsbydawn.blogspot.com/2026/01/january-13-2026-cast-iron-lodge-museum.html
It was good times. I definitely would recommend Tybee Island make sure you visit the book store and the art galleries. Even the Little Free Library’s. There’s so much incredible art and culture there it’s one to add to the list.

I love going to lighthouses I have read so many books on them. I am always intrigued by the lighthouse keeper. We are living in a state where there are 129 lighthouses….that’s a lot of stories. As always I love bringing you more adventures and happiness for you to explore.
I had a quick funny for you…..Colby comes out and tells me he is going to go to Japan to see Mt. Fuji. I say no we are going to climb Mt. Fuji. He looks at me….. when I was in the third grade I had a quarter and I put that shiny new coin right in a gum ball machine (it was full of different things) well I am thinking I am going to get the gum. No……. I got a magnet that said “ I climbed Mt. Fuji” lmao ๐Ÿ˜‚ he brought up that memory from deep in the vault. So now I have a feeling I might just be able to say I did climb Mt. Fuji. #GOALS Good vibes and positive energy from me to you!!! ✌๐Ÿป
