The Blizzard of 2026 in the Upper Peninsula #Heikki

Hello and a BIG WINTER WELCOME!! As you can see Heikki Lunta is at again. The blizzard continues on. It’s almost 2pm on Monday and it is as if time has hit pause here. Colby’s truck got stuck he hit a deer and the four wheel drive went out and the front of his truck is mashed in. So it got stuck! Then the cv axel went on the John Deere gator yesterday, as if!!!! Sad πŸ˜” face. So now Bruce is using the bobcat or skid steer to move snow etc.
The snow kept coming and as of 2 pm today it still is……. I wanted to share this with you.
My garden arches

The trampoline covered again

Those are bird tracks as I have resulted in feeding them from the porch to make sure they have plenty. Bruce did just a bit ago fill the feeders again as he attempted to walk in the snow making a trail as he went.

A few videos to watch if you have time. Hopefully tomorrow this has retreated and the time button is off pause. This is why you have extra food and supplies in your house at all times. Even my daughter Alexis said good thing you guys have that canned food. Actually it’s been a miracle that we have not lost power (should I say that???) it has flickered many times. As in the past when we had snow storms like this the power went out fairly quickly. I am so thankful it has not as it is very expensive to provide fuel for the generator. The year we had the ice storm we lost power for almost a week and during that time the gas prices were even more than usual and being in a small rural area it cost even more than in town. It averaged $50 a day then to run the generator. Now if we needed fuel we couldn’t even really afford it or even be able to get out. I know Bruce and he would find a way for sure. So no worries! 😌 Sending all the love and positive energy your way.

The BLIZZARD 🌨️ is Here Thanks Heikki Lunta #Blizzard2026

Hello and Welcome to the most snow I have ever seen. Yes and I was alive in the years we had blizzards in the south in the 70s and still nothing like it this blizzard. Thank you Heikki Luna https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heikki_Lunta also if you would like to hear the song

Heikki Lunta is the Finnish god https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_mythology

Yes that’s the trampoline Dusty cleaned it out
Dusty working his way into the high tunnel

Clearing the snow off the high tunnel (which is really a full greenhouse) but I call it the high tunnel like from my old one.

My bird feeder cans this was Sunday morning. We now have cold temperatures. It’s 26 degrees Fahrenheit as I type this. Colby is heading to work he shovels snow at nights. Bruce has worked all day clearing snow. I don’t know how it can do it. I have felt rough today from this weather. My back has ached all day. I painted my mushroom for the day. We are on day 53. I have continuously painted mushrooms for 53 days already. I will be sharing pictures of The Rhodes on their Florida trip. Stopping in Chattanooga first. Stay tuned for those pictures.

Blizzard 2026 in the UP Michigan

Hello and welcome to the Blizzard of 2026. March 15, 2026 Sunday. I wanted to get these out to you right away. It all started around midnight last night a wee bit earlier than expected. We have bought fuel for our generator jic. I won’t say anything but the power is on and it has only flickered a few times. Bruce is out trying to clean off some of the snow around the house and the trampoline. I will be posting that picture later on towards the night. They have already cancelled school which is very unusual here it takes an ice storm or very heavy snows to cancel school here. Where in NC they were canceled immediately even a dusting of snow. ❄️ It sure is different here. Yesterday I had Colby go get the fuel and milk and bread of course and there was plenty at the DG. Which if that had been in NC there wouldn’t have been a drop! Lmao!
That’s the gator he has been clearing the driveway the best he can. That actually happened to us when we first got here in 2021 we had so much snow Cody had to come over with his snowplow to get us out. The snow was up to the mailbox almost that year.
Of course I feed the birds all the time. Bruce jokes me about being their favorite stop. I do love the birds and have been feeding them since I was young my dad Richard gave me a feeder from the hardware store and I hung it up in my yard on a pine tree. I always had a lot of birds then too. I even got my neighbors to feed the birds too as they saw all my birds and wanted to enjoy them as well.
The bird flew past me waiting to get to the feed on the porch. Look at the snow it’s covered up the planter boxes.
The chickadee

A few videos for you to see this blizzard and whiteout conditions. Sending positive vibes and warm energy your way.
