Another Snow Storm 🌨️ Blizzard Warnings

Hello and welcome this was Fridays delivery of SNOW! ❄️ However they are currently calling for a Blizzard Warning. Which in the warning it states 2-3 Feet and high winds with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The trees are weighted down now as it is. Today is sunny this Saturday afternoon. Bruce was cutting wood to prepare us for the boiler since he would be unable to do so if the blizzard comes. We only cut wood of downed trees and trees that are dead. We haven’t bought wood loads in over two years. There just is no money for buying the loads. The first two years we were here we did buy large loads of wood, so all Bruce had to do was cut the wood into small pieces for the boiler or the Pioneer Princess stove. We have bought the large contractor type bags full of wood for $40 bucks but now they aren’t available like they used to be. The company here stopped selling them. It was very convenient as they were already split to fit in your fireplace or hearth. Sometimes the local hardware store will have them and we will get Colby to pick one up for us but the low income has kept us from purchasing them as much as we would like to. So today he has spent most of the day cutting wood and splitting it to prepare for the blizzard coming our way.
Just look at those beautiful colors of nature, it sure makes me happy and feel so proud to see it.

The purples and the oranges just make you feel the beautiful light. This would make a wonderful painting.

The trees are still weighted down and to add more snow is scary. 🫣
Of course I always like to get close up shots of plants and those icicles.

This is in the back yard I just love how the sun shines on the trees.

Breathtaking views

Rosie was loving the snow. I had to give her a treat to come inside.
Look at her go

I took some random pics so you can see how it looks now before the blizzard hits.
This was Friday morning.

Bruce had cleared the porch and you can see it was piled up.

The John Deere Gator was not happy with all the snow. That’s our plow. We got this John Deere in 2015 and it was the best thing we had done to get around the farm in. I am thankful for it!!! Can’t say it enough.

Peace Out. Bruce and I. We are still boiling sap for the maple syrup. Today we collected 8 five gallon buckets full. I rode in the gator but that was the most we have collected in all the times. We have got 6 1/2 five gallon buckets full before. Which is the usual. I worked on my mushroom project most of the day. Here and there. Taking care of my plants. We are having chili from bags we froze for supper. Take care and have a great day and weekend.
Much love and good vibes,

Sunset in Winter Unexpected Moments

Today was a regular day my class started at 11 am so I was preparing for that. The class which I will share more about that soon. The class has been amazing for me and others. I look forward to the classes and seeing everyone. It’s all on zoom.

The picture above and below was an unexpected moment. You can see beauty in everything. It’s like the book I’m reading now Conversations with a Brush by Chris Zydel. She says how we can see beauty in things we were taught that’s not beautiful. I don’t want say her exact words but it’s true something/someone is beautiful and we were taught that it’s not. Changing your perspective on things you will find the beauty in something. Even if it’s a moment that you took for granted. Life is beautiful and every moment is a blessing and a gift. Even the struggles can be beautiful as sometimes the hardest times we can overcome and something spectacular happens.

Here I was in the bathroom I always look out the window as I have seen animals and birds, I must confess I am looking for Bigfoot. Today as I was looking out of the window and I saw the icicle and the sun. I went outside to get the picture. Just look at the tree and the sunlight shining through.

The greenhouse a subtle orange glow. Beautiful!! Take a moment today and find the beauty in just the simplicity of it.

I had went to the dermatologist for a check up. It’s always a good idea to have it checked out. I spent many years in the sunshine and not protected. My mother would take me to the beach as a child and I was so pale I would be burnt in no time and we would be there all day. I would cover myself with towels coats and even jeans. My family would make fun of me but I was protecting myself from a sunburn that would be so painful. I only wish my parents had gave me sunscreen. I made it and now I wear hats and long sleeves. Always wearing sunglasses. I do have cataracts but the ophthalmologist said it would be years before I would a surgery.
Today I thought I would bring back some more pictures of 2025. We still didn’t even get through all of them from 2025. Just a few.,,,

I love this one. Alexis looks like she did as a young lady. I’m so proud of them. Love them so much. My Garebear.

Hey beautiful people, the beautiful people the beautiful people I’m singing

You know you’re a cheesehead…… love the hats!! Bruce wanted to buy one of those.
Baker with Papa

Eating those tomatoes don’t worry boys we will have more again this year.

Both of the boys in the wagon headed to the Little Free Library

This is one of my favorites them playing with the water this past summer

It may be cold now but before you know it summer will be here

Sunset on the pond
I love the sunsets I see on the days that the sun shines I call it a slice of heaven

I painted this type of sky in my paintings I went from memory not looking my pictures. I will be sharing that painting in five more days. Tomorrow is day 15 of the 100 day project.

Just a little reminder for your day….. be on the lookout for those simple things of  beauty today. It may even come in a smile or a snowflake. The sun shining in your eyes. Trust your instincts and open your mind to see the beauty in things that we were taught had no beauty. Change your perspective and see that it is beautiful. Thanks to Cody for coming by to help your daddy today. As a bonus I got to see Cody. Always makes a momma smile. Thank you!!! I love you ❤️
See you tomorrow.
Much love and good vibes,

New Baby Goat Kids and The Week Updates

Last week we had three kids born several more expecting soon. We have a lot of goats and I enjoy every minute of it. They are so playful and as Bruce always says like little babies. We have to bottle feed some from birth and giving them colostrum from milking their moms (doe). Sometimes the mother goats don't take them or for whatever reason they have too many and only two teats and sometimes reject or refuse to feed the third kid. Most of the time its because she can't keep up with the milk production of the third as they kids are very attached to the teats. We have been very blessed to have so many goats born on the farm. We mostly have the Oberhasli breed, along with the Saanen breed. We do have a Nigerian as well.

This is one of the little boys born this week. The Oberhasli breed.

Here is Milly she was born this week too.

Milly

Colten riding with Jack he had escaped and we had to take him back.
When its cold outside goats wear sweaters

Some of the Oberhaslis getting fruit off the Privet bush in the goat pasture. They love trees and leaves.

Three of the kids these little ones are Oberhasli breed too.
Skylar love the goats all of them, and tells her momma I am taking all the goats home with her every time she is here she helps us milk them, make yogurt, cheese, and even loves drinking goat milk.

Hello yep you guessed it another kid in a sweater

Momma loving her baby

Getting ready to give some treats.
Everyone works on the farm and no they don't want to but the older they get the harder it is to get them to help out. Bruce will take all the IPads and Xbox away until they complete their chores.
Two of the kids just chillin"

When the mom doesn't help take care of her babies we have to take care of them and they get brought in and placed on heat lamps and bottle fed, which I don't mind until there are so many of them and I am bottle feeding so many. Wink you know I love it!

Two kids born this week and you can this is right after birth.

My granddaughter Samantha and one of the baby goats.

Yep when I can I like to play dress up and get pictures but it doesn't seem like I have that opportunity anymore. The kid is adorable in the bunny ears.

When its 16 degrees outside or like this year even colder we have to keep them warm. Bruce makes it where they cant knock them over or anything. Yep again a sweater on a goat.....I love it!

Bottle feeding again

Samantha and Daisy

Yep even driving around with them

At Tractor Supply

Goats hate the snow and rain they don't even want to come out in the rain or snow!!!

You can see how small the kid is next to the rooster.

Today I made blackberry jam, blackberry seedless, yesterday I made hot pepper jam, made cheese, rendered beeswax and created more candles, sliced cucumbers for pickles which I soaked in the lime and now are in the brine. Boxed soap which I tell you tales foreverrrrr, printed labels, bottled honey, and washed and folded laundry........I'm exhausted but I wanted to get this post in. This weekend we will be at the Daffodil Festival

March 24 9-5pm
March 25 12-5pm

The blackberry jam I made today.
The blackberry jam......I also made the seedless which is a little more labor intensive.

More baby goat feeding

Gotta feed them baby goats about every four hours my aunt helped feed them she has been helping me box soap and label it this week and last.

At the bus stop Monday morning

From the Neighborhood Harvest

I hope to make another post before the end of the week but who knows as I have to set up Friday early so week will be short, meaning I wont have Friday to make stuff too. Until next time have super awesome week!!
