Snow Princess

You can click on the picture to view closer, if needed.

Good Morning everyone. I did this lo lastnight using my SwirlyDoo's kit, I already have my Febuary one but wanted to play with my January one before the month was up. I was so inspired by Sheila's Gypsy cut http://shesasassylady.blogspot.com/ that I made one similar of course mine is no where as fancy and pretty. What I did was while I was at the bus stop waiting to pick the boys up using the Gypsy was use George and Home Accents and welded the circle and the swirl. Then I cut one out with the whole circle in the center, then the top one with the circle cut out. Sheila was using a sketch by Liz Qualman. Sheilas lo is gorgeous, check it out.

The title was from Hello Kitty and the snowflake is from Accents Essentials all welded together. Princess is cut from Gypsy Font, welded. I layered the snowflake four times using thin popdots. The purple paper is some more of the handmade paper me and the boys made from scraps. The pp is Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade....love it!!! The file tab is also Bo Bunny. The while cardstock is Bazzill Basics. The turquoise cardstock is SU.

The white flower from the SwirlyDoos kit is from Prima, which I sprayed with Haunted Shadow Tattered Angels Glimmer mist. The put the stamens in and some ice stickles and Diamond Glaze. The flowers are Bo Bunny and Prima. The snowflake chipboard is also in the kit. I painted it white and then sprinkled on MS ultrafine glitter while wet. The rub on in the pic is KaiserCraft white flourish corner. The snow word was stamped using Autumn leaves swirls using white pigmant ink and crystal sparkle embossing powder, then stamped using SU lavender lace. The screen was from Tattered Angels Vintage Ice. The pic is of my dear granddaughter Abigail, pic taken Dec. 17, 2009 while she was looking at the Christmas Tree, she is wearing this cute little dress I bought from Target after Halloween, that is called Snow Princess costume...Abigail loves it!! She would say Grandma I put my dress on again....too cute!! TFL!! Have a WONDERFUL Day. Dawn :o)

GROW Altered Wall Hanging

Hello all, I hope this Monday has been a beautiful day for you and yours. I have been wanting to post this for about two weeks now. It is an altered wall hanging using a canvas turned around backwards like a shadow box. I painted the inside and the frame using acrylic paints. Then I added Webster's pp Nature's StoryBook:Grow Dreams. Using Tattered Angels glimmer mist sprayed on pp using the dragonfly screen and the tree screen. The grow letters are Rusty Pickle...I tore the cardboard off and used Tim Holtz crackle paints and applied a thin coat to them, and some ink. The lace around the frame is Prima Elegant Lace. The bumble bee, the dragonfly and two flowers on the alphas are SpellBinder's using the Wizard die cutting system, the dragonfly has a coat of Alcohol inks, the bumble bee is cut from Cosmo Cricket pp and inked. The blue flower is cut from handmade paper that me and the boys made one day..what a blast and they still will bring it up whenever I use it in a project. The pot is made using a crackle paint chip from the hardware store, using the SpellBinder's diecut.

The flowers on the outside of the frame are made using the SpellBinder's Sunflower die cut I cut the flower out then folded it into 1/8ths using the Tim Holtz tiny attacher (love this) stapled it on one side then attached to the homemade floral wire (I used to teach flower arranging for our local community college many many years ago) Yes I still have all my stuff....I know I get fussed at, about it all the time. Sprayed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist and wallah.....a flower vine. The leaves are SpellBinder's too. TFL!!! Thanks and Have a WONDERFUL afternoon. Dawn

Sing It's Spring Card

Hello I know I have been not posting as much as I always do but heres the scoop....I have had my same laptop since 2006, well I have dumped my pics into an external hardrive and I still was out of room, well not only that, my computer has been on life support...no joke here since last year. The screen went out on it, so I had to hook it up to a old heavy monitor then one day I let Cooper watch A Bug's Life by Disney which I purchased for him from I-Tunes and bam he decided to tear the keys up on the laptop, in like less than five minutes. Well hubby brought home a keyboard that evening for me. Since it really is OLD in computer lives....early 2006. It was so slow and some sites I couldn't even go on or leave comments because I couldn't add anything else to it. So now hopefully hubby will take the hints and get me a new computer!!!! Anywhoooo I am uploading a project I did using SpellBinder's, I used the circle Scallops Nestibilities and took the smallest sizes and ran thru the wizard, and fan folded the one circle, then fan folded the same size five times and then folded them over to create the one flower, glue together each side, use a thinner paper it really works best than the thicker ones. Everything is SpellBinders, the cardstock is Bazzill. The bling in the middle of the flowers are Prima. The stamps are Studio G (the ones you get for a buck)I jsut love that. I began stamping in the early 90's and there was no such thing a $1 stamp, they were all wood mounted, sometimes you get get the rubbers at a rubber stamp show and stick them on any wood piece you could get. I still have all these stamps, and love using them...but I do love scrapping my pics. I try to incorporate more stamps into my los....any way gotta go Dusty is crying..woke up out of his sleep.. take care, Dawn

Love ~Rusty Pickle~

Hello and Good Day!! Not your typical Monday here at my house, with the Holiday, the boys are all home from school and it has been a busy one. Legos are everywhere and every 10 seconds, its look momma, look what I just built. Last night I could not sleep....which is not like me...I am so tired when I lay down that's it!! So I got up and decided to scrap and here is what I did. I have just fallen all over these cardboard alphas from Rusty Pickle...and have used them in several places now, I better call Alaina and Jeri and tell them to send me more...I am running out....I also have a few projects I have not revealed using them so stay tuned!!! All weekend I had four extra girls at the house with my dd Alexis who is 20 and in college.....so didn't get to post anything yesterday..like I planned. Anyway....I cut the cardboard up from a box sent to me with Rusty Pickle product.....and some easy ways to do this are leave your box outside overnight, the moisture in the air will help you peel it off, or peel off the top coat and take your scissors and push up the valleys in the cardboard and then continue to peel, and one more method is to mist the cardboard then peel...if you have any ideas share them. Then I layered the pics and the pp, the pp is Rusty Pickle Chocolate Covered Cherries, which I am so out of it too. I used leftovers here and the flower pic I bought at ACMoore, the trims, the buttons, the tag all Rusty Pickle. Of course the cardboard alphas are RP, too!! The cardboard heart was cut from a regular heart punch, how cool is that!! The ticket is Jenni Bowlin. TFL!! Have a Wonderful Afternoon, Dawn
(Oh btw it is not crooked irl, that was just operator error..lol!! I will fix tomorrow. Sorry.

Valentine Mail Box ~Rusty Pickle~

Good afternoon, I have been cleaning all day with the boys, Colten has been doing the bathrooms, and Cody the kitchen and I have cleaned up the toys with the younger boys, I wanted to stop and get this up on the blog today, do you realize Valentine's Day will be here in less than a month. Get started on those Valentine's if you haven't already. My oldest son will be 23 in a few days....so I have been thinking of his cake and a gift for him. Okay now I feel real old!!! LOL!!! On to the mailbox..... I used one of those adorable little Target mailboxes that only cost a buck....gotta love it!! Rusty Pickle Fair Verona pp, trims, buttons, pink alphas, and cardstock coupons. The rub-on Be Mine is also Rusty Pickle. I used 1/8" double sided tape to glue trims on, which worked perfect!! The flowers are from Prima, a gift in our Rusty Pickle retreat bag. Thanks Prima!!! Easy Peasy!! TFL!! Have a WONDERFUL DAY!!!!! :0) Dawn
