Navy Man
Hello everyone my aunt had recently sent me this pic of my grandfather when he was young from 1942.....well I was impressed. I knew he had been in WWII but that was all I really knew...not knowing the branch. I knew I was gonna scrap it...just getting to it. He is now in his 80's. I plan on placing in Ms.Schwiet
challenge of distressing......because I distressed everything...even the anchor and the helm..it is just hard to see. I used BoBunny Back to Basic's Beautiful Life Collage. The Navy seal came from SugarTree Kersten collection pp..as the word Navy and the Eagle wings behind the photo. I then cut out with the Cricut the helm and the anchors from LIB anchors cut at 2 from border and anchor cut at 3 1/2. I then used embossing refill and painted on the helm with a brush then added the gold detail embossing powder. I then covered with Ranger crackle glaze. Which really gave it an old feel. I ink distressed. The rope is from Wal-Mart. The chain was some chain I had and I dipped it into black paint and hung to dry. MM tiny alphs..love those!! The compass legend is a stamp from stampcraft....probally around 1999 or earlier. I stamped unto the copper foil from Amaco..using black Staz-on. Thanks for your time and viewing!!!
